Potty Trianig Attempt #1; Tried and Failed

There is a long and short story to this. I will give you the short story. We tried for three days. There was no pee in the potty. At all. Ever. Maybe next time, when it is his choice to go and not me trying to cajole him into it. He's a smart kid. Smart kids can still wear diapers, right? Perhaps they have an Honor's course in kindergarten for advanced potty training.

It took us so long with Lauren, and she is a smart kid! She said her first three word sentence when she was 10 month old. But she just wouldn't pee in the toilet! (I say wouldn't because I am still convinced that she could, she just wouldn't) Evan on the other hand, was a snap. I am not sure the difference because we trained them the same way, but whatever. Hang in there! He won't be wearing diapers to kindergarten :)

This too shall pass. You're a great mom and he's a great boy! It will happen.

Potty training is a rite of passage for parenthood. It is the HARDEST thing I have done thus far. Take your time and be patient. It will happen. My mom kept telling me "he won't go to college in diapers." Even though that didn't get him using the toilet any more then normal. Good Luck! I have been there and I fear the time when it is Dylan's turn.
